Where do I start with this Biker Bride blog? I do love to mix things up creatively and I kinda wanted to do an editorial piece showcasing wedding dresses in and around our fab city of Manchester. I met up with Danielle Boxall Photography in the New Year and we immediately clicked. Do you know when you’ve followed someone for ages on social media and when you meet up it feels like you’ve know them forever? it was pretty much like that!
Now, I don’t think I’m super crazy with my ideas but I do like to push the boundaries and think outside the box. Well I’ve met my match with Danielle, she is definitely someone who is one step ahead with no limitations. We had a chat over a brew and bounced round loads of ideas and settled on The Biker Bride ” I can know someone with a bike” she’s says “and I can get a Chevy!” ( next time for deffo, I promise). There we have it the first shoot is set. After a massive creative onslaught of ideas on messenger between myself, Mimi – MUA , Bekka – Frock n Soul and Danielle we headed to the Northern Quarter in city center Manchester where BC’s very own Chris kindly accommodated us whilst we did hair and make up. Heading straight into town the guys at Kosmonaut fed and watered us and let us use their place to hang out in between shoots, and even take a few shots inside as it has really cool urban vibe as you can see here…..
The Film -by Nicholas Visuals has encapsulated all that the brand is about and we are all thrilled to pieces with it. I truly hope you love it as much as we do. Aaron the owner of the videography company also specialises in filming weddings and I would recommend him with no hesitation….. enjoy #eek
THE FLOWERS – PARAGON FLORAL DESIGN.
For the flowers we wanted an injection of colour, it is starting to feel all spring like, so of course we asked Paragon Floral Design to create a beautiful wedding bouquet. Lisa from Paragon say’s “We created a relaxed bouquet for the shoot incorporating tropical and spring flowers in bold colours. I thought this would work well with the shoot around the city as the colours and loose style of the flowers would pop against the grey and the structured buildings.” We 100% agree.
THE LOOK – MIMI LOMAX MAKE UP & HAIR.
Mimi and I discussed a dramatic rock look for this shoot and here’s how she created the look. “To achieve an ” I-Slept-In-My-Makeup” kinda look, I started by applying the Nars Velvet Matte Skin Tint to Haniya’s skin and generously lined the perimeter of her lash line as well as the entire inner rim of the eyes with a deep cobalt navy liner. I then lightly applied the new MAC Diane Kendal SS 2017 Glamourize Me Eyeshadow Palette in the bronze shade to the cheekbone, lips and brow bone with a Bobbi Brown Touch Up brush. To develop the look I diffused the plum and the royal purple shades of the same Mac Cream Eyeshadow Palette around the eyes to form more of a round eye shape.”
“For the ultimate Rock Chic Hair Style, I curled Haniya’s hair with a curling tongue in different directions and added some Bumble and Bumble Prêt-à-Powder for volume. To add a bit of texture, I twisted a few sections of her hair with Bumble and Bumble Surf Spray and blow-dried them to hold. Many thanks to Linette who assisted me on the shoot.”
ELLA MOORE COUTURE – Meet our “Carrie” – truly rocking our Sex in the City bridal look our model Haniya pulls this look of to perfection. Laura designed our first dress based in some images I sent to her. Laura creates bespoke couture garments for weddings and special occasions where prices are upon request. Laura say’s ” unique garments are made to your measurements sourcing some amazing fabrics.” Here at BC we just love the dress she created for this shoot. You can dress perfectly with a pair of Charlotte Mill shoes and then kick on your converse for some serious comfort for the party after.

MEET THE PHOTOGRAPHER – DANIELLE BOXALL PHOTOGRAPHY?
“Hi, this is me, the one on the right. I know what its like to be on the other side of the lens, its awkward right? Do I look straight at the camera, do I turn my head, how do you want my hands, shall I smile!!. I can help with all of that as I pretty much just want you to be you. Whatever you feel comfortable, confident and pretty awesome doing that’s what I want to capture, the informal fun you. I have over 10 years’ experience in the wedding industry, principally as a photographer. I was born and bred on the south coast of England. I then moved up north with the family and now I’m based in north Manchester, which is perfect for shooting weddings all over the UK and abroad. Photography has always been a love of mine and the camera is never far away when I’m out and about not just at weddings. I have a natural creative attitude to life which comes across in my photography. I will always go the extra mile whilst capturing what’s important to you. I love cats, tattoos, traveling, cars and going to gigs……..”
Looking to the future we want to take the Bridal Chic Brand further a field but as you know this takes time and a lot of planning. For now though we want to say a special thank you to our beautiful model Haniya and especially Tom for participating (not knowing what he was getting into) and for bringing the Harley D …..
